Hazardous Waste Items
Here is a list of some of the common household hazardous waste that
will contaminate landfills and and threaten water supplies. Glendale
residents can bring hazardous wastes to the Environment Management
Center (EMC) on the second Saturday of each month between the hours of 9
am and 3 pm.
- Antifreeze
- Batteries (vehicle)
- Chlorine Bleach
- Drain Openers
- Gasoline
- Corrosive Chemicals (lye, muriatic acid)
- Hobby Chemicals
- Motor Oil (used)
- Paint
- Paint Thinners
- Pesticides (insect sprays, flea powders, weed killers)
- Rust Removers
- Swimming Pool Chemicals
- Wood Preservatives
When you bring your items to the EMC remember these simple safety
rules:
- Keep the waste materials in their original container.
- Make certain all of the containers to not leak.
- Transport the waste in the trunk or your car and do not transport
more than five gallons or fifty pounds.
