8.52.010 Authority of city manager.


The city manager shall have the authority to order "smoking prohibited by law" signs erected in any public building owned or operated or under the control of the city where, in the city manager's opinion, smoking or the carrying of a lighted cigar, cigarette, pipe or match or any use of any spark, flame or fire-producing device would cause damage or constitute a menace to life or property. (Prior code º 11-75)

8.52.020 Smoking prohibited in specified places.


No person shall smoke or carry a lighted cigarette, cigar, pipe or match, or use any spark, flame or fire-producing device in any public building owned, operated or under the control of the city where a sign is displayed upon such premises reading, "smoking prohibited by law." (Prior code º 11-76)

8.52.030 Violation-Penalty.


Notwithstanding the provisions of Chapter 1.20 of this code, whenever any person commits an act which is prohibited or declared unlawful by this chapter it shall be a misdemeanor and shall be punishable by a fine not exceeding five hundred dollars. (Prior code º 11-77)
