2.20.010 Functions-Composition.


The public works division shall have charge of the functions assigned to the public works department by the charter. The division shall be composed of the following sections: engineering section, street and field services section, building section, integrated waste management section, permit services center, traffic and transportation section, and mechanical maintenance section. 2.20.020 Director of public works.


The director of public works shall be the head of the public works division. For the purposes of all improvement acts in the Streets and Highways Code of the state of California, and the construction of public improvements pursuant thereto, the director of public works shall be the street and field services administrator* and shall have and exercise all the powers and duties which the street and field services administrator may possess by virtue of such acts. 2.20.030 Engineering section-City engineer generally.*


The city engineer shall be the head of the engineering section. (Prior code º 2-35)

2.20.040 Street and field services section-Administrator generally.*


The street and field services administrator shall be the head of the street and field services section. (Prior code º 2-36)

2.20.050 Building inspection section-Administrator generally.*


The permit services administrator shall be the head of the building section. (Prior code º 2-37)

2.20.060 Integrated waste management section-Administrator generally.


The integrated waste management administrator shall be the head of the integrated waste management section. (Prior code º 2-38)

2.20.070 Traffic and transportation section-Administrator generally.


The traffic and transportation administrator shall be the head of the traffic and transportation section. (Prior code º 2-38.5)

2.20.080 Mechanical maintenance section- Administrator generally.


The mechanical maintenance administrator shall be the head of the mechanical maintenance section. (Prior code º 2-38.7)

2.20.090 Permit services center-Administrator generally.


The permit services administrator shall be the head of the permit services center. (Added during 1995 recodification)
