10.24.010 Regulation of speed by traffic signals.

10.24.010 Regulation of speed by traffic signals.
The traffic and transportation administrator is authorized to regulate the timing of traffic signals so as to permit the movement of traffic in any orderly and safe manner at speeds slightly at variance from the speeds otherwise applicable within the district or at intersections. 10.24.020 Increase of state maximum speed limits.
It is determined upon the basis of an engineering and traffic investigation that the prima facie speed limit permitted by state law upon the following streets, is lower than is necessary for safe operation of vehicles thereon by reason of the designation and signposting of such streets as through highways and by reason of widely spaced intersections and it is declared that the prima facie speed limit shall be as set forth on those streets or parts of streets set out in this section when signs are erected giving notice thereof.
The prima facie speed limit on Chevy Chase Drive between Solway Street and St. Andrews Drive shall be twenty-five miles per hour.
The prima facie speed limit on Riverside Drive between Victory Boulevard and the northwesterly city limits shall be thirty-five miles per hour.
The prima facie speed limit on Verdugo Road from four hundred feet north of the south intersection of Verdugo Road and Canada Boulevard to Wabasso Way shall be thirty-five miles per hour.
The prima facie speed limit on Victory Boulevard from Justin Avenue to Allen Avenue shall be thirty-five miles per hour.
The prima facie speed limit on the following portions of West Glenoaks Boulevard shall be increased to thirty-five miles per hour: on the northerly roadway from Pacific Avenue to Cleveland Road, from Grandview Avenue to one hundred twenty feet west of Newby Street, and from Justin Avenue to the Burbank city limits; and on the southerly roadway from ninety feet west of Allen Avenue to one hundred feet east of Raymond Avenue, from Sonora Avenue to one hundred ninety feet east of Grover Avenue, and from thirty feet east of Cleveland Road to Pacific Avenue.
The prima facie speed limit on the portions of Montrose Avenue lying in the city between Pennsylvania Avenue and Verdugo Boulevard shall be thirty-five miles per hour. (Prior code ºº 27-64-27-70)
10.24.030 Decrease of state maximum speed limits.
It is determined upon the basis of an engineering and traffic investigation that the speed permitted by state law outside of business and residence districts as applicable upon the following streets is greater than is reasonable or safe under the conditions found to exist upon such streets and it is declared that the prima facie speed limit shall be as set forth on those streets or parts of streets set out in this section when signs are erected giving notice thereof.
The prima facie speed limit on Chevy Chase Drive between St. Andrews Drive and the east city limits shall be twenty-five miles per hour.
The prima facie speed limit on Glendale Avenue between its intersection with Verdugo Road and the second alley northeasterly of Glenoaks Boulevard shall be thirty-five miles per hour.
The prima facie speed limit on Glenoaks Boulevard Service Road between its intersection with Pacific Avenue and its intersection with Brand Boulevard shall be twenty-five miles per hour.
The prima facie speed limit on the portions of La Crescenta Avenue lying in the city between Verdugo Road and Honolulu Avenue shall be thirty-five miles per hour.
The prima facie speed limit on Linda Vista Road between Chevy Chase Drive and the east city limits shall be thirty-five miles per hour.
The prima facie speed limit on Verdugo Road from the south intersection of Canada Boulevard and Verdugo Road to a point four hundred feet north of the south intersection shall be thirty-five miles per hour.
The prima facie speed limit on Verdugo Road between Wabasso Way and the northerly intersection of Verdugo Road with Canada Boulevard shall be thirty-five miles per hour.
The prima facie speed limit on Victory Boulevard from the Los Angeles city limits to Justin Avenue and from Allen Avenue to Burbank city limits shall be thirty-five miles per hour.
The prima facie speed limit on the following portions of West Glenoaks Boulevard shall be decreased to thirty-five miles per hour: on the northerly roadway from Brand Boulevard to Pacific Avenue (not including the Glenoaks Boulevard Service Road), from Cleveland Road to Grandview Avenue, and from one hundred twenty feet west of Newby Street to Justin Avenue; and on the southerly roadway from the Burbank city limits to ninety feet west of Allen Avenue, from one hundred feet east of Raymond Avenue to Sonora Avenue, from one hundred ninety feet east of Grover Avenue to thirty feet east of Cleveland Road, and from Pacific Avenue to Brand Boulevard. 10.24.040 Decrease of state limits between districts.
Reference is made to the following portions of streets where the state speed law of fifty-five miles per hour is applicable for a distance of not exceeding two thousand feet in length between districts, either business or residence, and is determined upon the basis of an engineering and traffic investigation that the speed permitted by state law upon the following described portions of streets which are not state highways is greater than is reasonable or safe under the conditions found to exist upon the described portions of such streets and it is declared that the prima facie speed limit shall be as herein set forth on those portions of streets herein designated when signs are erected giving notice thereof.
